Our mission as Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska is to perform the Works of Mercy.

Our vision statement is an aspirational goal that we strive to achieve every single day at CSS. We strive to inspire hope and love when we welcome the stranger and when we give drink to the thirsty and food to the hungry. We strive to inspire hope and love when we encounter each other and when we encounter our volunteers, community partners, and you, our supporters. In every encounter, that is our goal and we’d be honored to have you join us on this journey.

Catholic Social Services of Southern Nebraska offers many opportunities for individuals, families, and parish communities to serve those in need. Volunteers feed the hungry and give drink to the thirsty through our CSS Food Market & Meal Services. Volunteers shelter the homeless by helping our St. Gianna Program families. Volunteers welcome the stranger by assisting with our Refugee Resettlement Services and Immigration Legal Services. Volunteers clothe the naked by assisting at our CSS Gift & Thrift Stores. Volunteers sustain Hope in the Good Life by helping with our eCommerce sales. Ultimately, we are about service to one another: the disabled, the aged, the newcomer, and the poor among us.
