Who We Are

Dimensions Education Programs provides high-quality early childhood education for children from 6 weeks to 5 years. Our mission is to inspire children, families, and educators to connect more deeply with the world around them, and our vision is a community where every child feels capable, curious, and confident in their learning journey. Founded as part of the Dimensions Educational Research Foundation, our history is rooted in research and innovation. Beginning in 1996, we collaborated with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln to study learning in young children, discovering the benefits of natural outdoor environments on focus, behavior, and skill development. This work grew into a multidisciplinary research foundation, continuing today with studies on Certified Nature Explore Classrooms that show children are more relaxed, creative, and engaged in natural learning settings. Since 1968, Dimensions Education Programs has been a leader in Lincoln’s early childhood community, serving over 100 families and supporting other programs through initiatives like Prosper Lincoln and the Lincoln Littles Campaign. Our philosophy is hands-on and experiential: children explore, create, solve problems, build social-emotional skills, and develop a love of learning. Inspired by Reggio Emilia, HighScope, and ongoing research, we provide reflective, inclusive, and nature-rich environments where both children and educators thrive.

What We Do

At Dimensions Education Programs, we inspire children, families, and educators to connect deeply with the world around them. Through engaging, hands-on learning experiences for young children, we build strong partnerships with families and our community. We welcome children from infancy through preschool, providing spaces where they can explore, ask questions, and build skills for lifelong learning. Our classrooms are lively, creative places for play, discovery, and connecting with caring educators. Every day, our team creates spaces that encourage imagination and creativity. We support children as they solve problems, build social skills, and express themselves through art, science, math, literacy, movement, and time outdoors. Families stay involved and informed to support learning both at school and at home. We achieve our mission with dedicated staff, thoughtful spaces, and strong community ties. Our classrooms and outdoor areas spark curiosity, and our educators support each child’s growth with personal attention. Families are active partners in learning through regular communication and involvement. Teachers work together and continue learning to keep our programs fresh. We draw inspiration from the Reggio Emilia approach, the HighScope curriculum, and research from the Dimensions Educational Research Foundation. Our goal is to offer early education that values each child’s curiosity, supports families as partners, and helps children build skills, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.
