The ACCC hosts a Mahjong Club on the second Thursday of each month from 5–7pm.

Volunteers are needed one hour before and after the event to help with setup and cleanup. During the event, volunteers may assist with arranging tables and chairs, preparing mahjong sets, and completing other tasks as needed.

The Afghan Elders Class is designed to provide a supportive environment for Afghan elders and women. This class offers participants an opportunity to promote community health and wellness, empower women within the community, and share their experiences.

Watch the children of those attending the class

Ensure children are safe at all times, both during play and structured activities, and that they follow established safety protocols.

Encourage creativity, social interaction, and positive behavior.

Maintain a clean and organized classroom or play space.

In partnership with El Centro de las Américas, the Asian Community & Cultural Center offers FREE citizenship classes for permanent residents / green card holders. Lutheran Family Services and Catholic Social Services are also partners in this program to provide students who complete a 10 week class free legal assistance with their N-400 applications from one of their DOJ's or lawyers.

Volunteer responsibilities include:

Citizenship class instructors are seeking up to two volunteers assigned per class.

***Volunteers for this opportunity must commit to attending for the majority of a semester OR at least 3 months in order to build relationships with the students. Volunteers will also be asked to complete an additional background check in order to volunteer for ACCC programs that occur at LPS schools.

Asian Community & Cultural Center’s Youth Program is a culture-based youth program serving ALL immigrant or refugee youth that is focused on mentorship, preparing for the future, empowering youth to be leaders, and creating a place of belonging for youth within their school and community. Our Youth Program coordinates multiple weekly after-school, or school-day programs at select middle schools and high schools.

Volunteer responsibilities include:

-Provide positive role modeling and support to youth.

-Assist ACCC staff in leading engaging activities and programs.

-Ensure that rules and guidelines are followed during activities.

-Maintain clear and open communication about scheduling with program coordinators and staff.

-Help students with homework, college and scholarship applications (as needed)

This is our 2nd annual Mahjong Mania fundraiser event at the Lincoln Country Club. Ticket holders will come to learn and play Mahjong, enjoy snacks, and learn about the work of the Asian Community & Cultural Center. Volunteers will be needed to help with set up, clean up, and helping guests navigate the space.

The Asian Center will be hosting a Car Seat Passenger Safety Check Event for our community in our parking lot. This event is designed to help ensure that child car seats are correctly installed and properly used in passenger vehicles to keep children safe. We are seeking up to 5 volunteers to help make this event a success.

Volunteer responsibilities includes:

Set up cones, signs, and barriers to guide vehicle flow

Direct vehicles into the correct entrance and exit lane

Greet drivers and confirm they are attending the car seat check event

Manage queue lines to prevent backups onto public roads as needed

Signal drivers when to stop, proceed, or park using clear hand gestures

Keep pedestrian walkways clear and safe

Redirect non-event traffic as needed

Monitor speed and remind drivers to proceed slowly

Help with breakdown of cones and signs at event close

The Cultural Bazaar event is an opportunity for local vendors to sell their traditional goods and crafts, including food, jewelry, traditional clothing, and more. The whole community is invited to attend, and whatever they buy, some of the proceeds goes towards the Asian Community & Cultural Center.

Volunteers are needed to help set up beforehand, including moving tables and chairs, helping vendors set up their stations, etc. Volunteers will also be needed to clean up afterwards. During the event, volunteers are welcome to stay and enjoy the event, or leave and come back.

This event can count for 1-5 hours depending on how long you stay.
