Camp Culture

Expired

Description

Because volunteers will be providing direct service to underage clients, a background check is required before volunteering with this opportunity unless you are a minor.

Camp Culture is our annual week-long event that teaches Kindergarten through fifth-grade students about the vibrant cultures within their community! Participants will explore four or more different cultures represented in Nebraska through dances, music, food, and games led by representatives of each culture. Each youth will get a “passport” that they will use to reflect on each culture they “visit,” completing activities that will give them a stamp in their passport. At Camp Culture, kids will learn that being different is good as they celebrate the differences in cultures around the world as well as in each other! This year we are also adding a field trip on Saturday, May 31st 8-12pm to the International Quilt Museum.

Volunteer Duties:

  1. Help with set up / clean up
  2. Welcome students as they arrive
  3. Help students with all activities
  4. Lead some activities, including games
  5. Keep students safe, respectful, and having fun!
