Due to all the activities that happen at the center, keeping up with some facility maintenance activities can be a challenge. We always welcome volunteers, groups, or anyone interested in building their resume and is interested in helping us or gaining experience with cleanliness, safety, and functionality of our facilities.
Tasks may include:
- Cleaning and Maintenance:
- Cleaning of common areas, offices, and restrooms.
- Ensuring a clean and sanitary environment.
- Dusting, sweeping, and mopping floors.
- Emptying trash cans and recycling bins.
- Repairs and Maintenance:
- Performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks.
- Fixing leaky faucets, loose doorknobs, or broken light fixtures.
- Assisting with painting, carpentry, and electrical work.
- There is always a loose screw to tighten, a wall that needs some fresh paint, a broken toilet handle, and many others.
- Groundskeeping:
- Maintaining the organization's outdoor areas.
- Mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and weeding gardens.
- Removing snow and ice during winter months.
- Inventory Management:
- Keeping track of maintenance supplies and equipment.
- Ordering and restocking supplies as needed.
- Volunteer Coordination:
- Providing guidance and training to new volunteers interested in this area.
- Collaboration with Staff:
- Working closely with the organization's staff to identify and address maintenance needs.
