Linked2Literacy at Lincoln Children's Museum!

Description

Do you enjoy working with children, getting creative, and sharing a love of reading? Join Linked2Literacy as a volunteer in the LNKLab at the Lincoln Children's Museum!

Volunteers will help children ages 8–12 create handmade bookmarks using colorful tape and recycled paper in the Maker Studio. These bookmarks will be distributed at WordStock, helping readers of all ages keep their place in a favorite book while supporting literacy in our community.

As a volunteer, you'll engage with children in a fun, hands-on environment, encourage creativity, assist with the bookmark-making process, and help spark conversations about the joy of reading. You'll also share how books can inspire imagination, build knowledge, and transport readers to new places and experiences.

This opportunity is perfect for individuals who:

  • Enjoy interacting with children in a creative setting
  • Are enthusiastic about literacy and lifelong learning
  • Believe in the power of community service and giving back
  • Can create a welcoming, encouraging environment for young makers
