Hospice volunteers are an integral part of Tabitha’s Hospice Team, providing emotional, physical and spiritual support in the last stages of a client’s life and offering support for their family as well.
Tabitha Hospice needs volunteers to assist in supporting hospice clients: veterans willing to volunteer their time with fellow veterans; with pet visits that brighten days; and compassionate people to provide companionship.
Volunteers may offer:
- Companionship
- Respite
- Pet visits
- Bereavement support
- Music visits
- Pinning ceremonies
- Veteran-to-veteran programs
After your hospice volunteer application is approved, specialized training is provided to prepare you for this unique and rewarding opportunity. The length of commitment may vary, from a one-time visit to multiple visits over several weeks.
