Reports To: Program Coordinator / Site Supervisor
Position Summary: Malone's Out of School Volunteer Food Server plays an important role in creating a positive and welcoming mealtime experience for children ages 5–13 participating in our after-school program. This volunteer helps prepare, serve, and clean up snacks or meals while ensuring food safety and supporting a nurturing environment for youth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve healthy snacks or meals to children in a respectful, friendly, and efficient manner.
- Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures in accordance with Level 2 Food Handler Certification standards.
- Maintain cleanliness of serving areas, tables, and food storage spaces.
- Assist with setup and cleanup before and after meal service.
- Support staff in promoting a positive dining atmosphere and appropriate mealtime behavior. Interact positively with children and staff while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Report any safety, health, or behavioral concerns to the Site Supervisor immediately.
Qualifications:
- Must hold a Level 2 Food Handler Certificate (must obtain before volunteering).
- Experience working with children or in food service is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with a diverse team. Friendly, patient, and dependable with a commitment to safety and respect.
