This year's Harvest Moon Festival is our 11th annual community celebration that honors the Asian holiday celebrated in multiple Asian countries. We will have cultural dance performances, food, art, face painting, henna, bounce houses, and more. Over 1,000 people attend this free community event every year, and it helps to bridge the cultural divide between the immigrants we serve and the larger Lincoln community. Volunteers are vital to the success of this event, and they help with everything from set up, to clean up, to monitoring bounce houses, face painting, and calling performers up to the stage. Please sign up for the shift time that works best for you based on what you would prefer to help with:
Shift Time: 11:30am - 3:30pm
Duties:(15 needed) 1. Come to the Asian Center and load tables into U-haul, decorations and water into trucks/vans for the event **Tents, **green chairs 2. Go to storage unit nearby and load the rest of the tables and chairs 2. 12:30pm Unload everything at Antelope Park near the Bandshell 3. Set up all tables and chairs, move benches 4. Set up the Tents/Canopies 5. Hang up all lanterns 6. Place all signs on correct tables 7. Set up Banner 8. Wipe down tables and chairs 9. Help set up the snack table 10. Help set up the selling table
Shift Time: 3:30-7:00pm
Duties: (25 needed) 1. Help with snack table and selling table (2-4 volunteers) 2. Help with activity table (face painting) (2 volunteers) 3. Supervise the bouncy houses (8 volunteers) -make sure only 5 at a time, no kids with face painting, etc. 4. Call for staff/performances (2 volunteers) 5. Help with Info/Welcoming table (2 volunteers) Count attendees
6. Help watch livestream (1 volunteer) 7. Special volunteers: 3 x “Bin Buddies” - Staff waste stations to help event-goers sort their waste into landfill and recycling bins. (competition) 3 x “Litter Patrol” - Walk the festival grounds throughout the event, picking up litter using a grabber tool.
Shift Time: 6:45-8:30pm
Duties: (10-15 needed) 1. Gather all trash on the grass and around the bandshell 2. Tear down tents 3. Fold and put away tables and chairs 4. Load everything into trucks/vans 5. GO BACK TO ACCC & STORAGE UNIT TO HELP UNLOAD
